Hi

I just purchased this ES a little more than a month ago. I took the car to a mechanic and he said that my car has a clean bill of health except some regular maintenance and that I need to replace my rear brakes soon. I've been very unhappy with the the breaking ability of the car especially that the wheel tends to vibrate when braking from faster speeds.

I plan on getting 4 Bridgestone Potenza G009s very soon and I'd like to get an estimate on how much it would cost if I did a complete brake job. Calipers, rotors, pads and any other necessary parts for the front and rear. I was thinking to buy some brembo rotors and I wasn't sure about the calipers or pads yet.

Basically I'm just wondering how much labor would cost for a job like this and how much would good parts cost.

If it helps with labor costs I'm in the Chicago area.

P.S. I also was curious if it is okay for your A/C to leak if your car is stationary.

Thank you for your time.

You are looking at a few hundred dollars plus labor for the parts you are talking about. I can't tell you what labor is going to cost because that changes for one shop to another. I run a shop and I charge $40.00 an hour and a shop 1/2 mile from me charges $60.00 to $80.00 an hour. Yes your AC. Should leak like you show in your pic. No worries there.

A few hundred dollars for a COMPLETE brake job? When I was researching parts the calipers were $100+ EACH. I know that the labor rates are different but how many hours would you charge for a complete brake job + 4 tires mounted (they are already balanced).
