Have an 1986 mitsubishi mighty max 2.0 liter truck that has been eating up in-line fuel pumps. Cant figure out why. Usually occurs after truck idles for more than a minute or two. After trying to accelerate the truck just hesitates and then dies. Have replaced the in-line pump several times and the latest one lasted less than a week. Can anyone help? Dont know what else to do. The only thing that gets the truck back on the road when it happens temporarily is to suck gas from the main gas line so that it comes out the hosing. All help appreciated.

Hi Mighty Max1,

You mean the fuel pump keeps burning off or it just operates without pumping fuel?

After removal of pump, did you test them?

Were the pump used or new and of the same make/brand?
