2002 Mitsubishi Lancer my clutch is acting funny

Ok here it goes I have a 2002 mitsubishi lancer es my father in law came over to take a look at it for me well the car will start in any gear but will not go into gear it just acts like it is locked up ok now if you try to start it in gear it will not fully roll over and it kinda pulls a lil but now if you put it in gear and jack the front end up it will go into gear and change fine but the clucth is still loose as all get out we tryed to bleed the slave and it worked the preassure to the clutch came back but there was still more air so we kept bleeding then the clutch went write back down to the floor so any help on this one would be great and is there an way to tell wich cylinder is bad with out having to change them both thank you and have a great day
