Transmission problem
1995 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My car gets more rpm then it should. My overdrive button does not work. What in the transmission could cause my overdrive not to kick in?

Hi Dawud,

There are many reasons that can cause the problem and the best is to check the basics.

ATF level.

Clogged trans filter. Dirty or aged ATF.

Others are,

Faulty OD switch or solenoid.

TCM malfunctioniing.
