So I had a problem with the camshaft sensor, I replaced it, put all the spark plugs back in its place, and it no longer gave me a code saying anything about the sensor, the weird thing is, that the durango would suddenly shut of, only in park, you would put it on any other gear and it would work fine, I thought the camshaft was the cause of it, because I would get a code on my scanner indicating so, but even after replacing it I saw that it would still do the same thing, and I have checked the spark plugs again, and their arranged in a different order, I searched for a diagram on the Internet and when I put the plugs in that order, it does not run. I cranked the engine and it does not fire up. I am wondering why they do not work in their indicated place, maybe it is the distributor that is out of place. And, I have not moved it, it suddenly started shutting off on its own, I get no codes whatsoever, the sensor is in its mark. So I am pretty much lost here, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I also tried putting the pulley in its timing mark, the weird thing about it is that when I do so, piston number one is not all the way up. The mark is not timed with the piston, and it should be.

If it runs okay in every gear but park I would replace the PRNDL switch on the transmission. It must be shorter when in park.

here is a guide to help test it and a diagram below.

Let me know how it goes,

Best, ken
