I need to know what causes a EGR backpressure valve sensor to overheat and melt the part where the hoses connect to , but did not harm the hoses or the sensor part?

There is nothing wrong except the quality of the part itself. The sensor is designed to read exhaust pressure and exhaust is hot. The hoses can handle it but some of the sensors deteriorate.
