1998 Mercury Sable

The interior lights of my 98 sable remain on while driving and turn off 30 minutes after the car is turned off. What is causing this to happen?

it might possibly be the door jam switch shorting out

The micro switches get gummed up and stick. Spray the heck out of them with WD40 and see if it solves the issue.
