I'm having a problem with my power steering. 3 times on the same corner as I was slowing down to make a right hand turn, at the beginning of the turn the battery light flickers on a few times and my power steering all of a sudden turns into manual steering. I had a mechanic look at it and he said that it was the tensioner belt and we had it replaced. Unfortunately since then it has done it to me again. Is it possible that the battery is the problem?

Unplug transmission range sensor and drive. If the steering is ok now it is the sensor. It may also be the GEM module if it still acts up.

IF this doesn't pan out, fluid pressures should be checked at various points of the hydrolic steering system to see if the pressure falls out of spec. Blockage in rack?
