1995 Mercury Sable Anti Freeze odor

1995 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I just had a new radiator installed (old one cracked) along with a new thermostat and three new hoses. I am getting a strong antifreeze odor eminating from the engine, but no leaking occurs. Also, when driving I notice my temperature guage reads a little on the higher side, but within normal range. Is this a result of a faulty thermostat?

If thermostat was replaced with new then doubt if thermostat is at fault. Any white smoke from exhaust or engine area? Are the radiator fan(s) coming on?

No white smoke coming from the car and the radiator fan is coming on.

It's possible that there is a partical clog in the system (i.E. Clogged heater core) that is causing the slight overheating which will cause the coolant to smell a bit stronger.
