hood latch is broken

the hood latch on my 98 mercury mountaineer is broken. is there a way to open it without taking everything apart? it has a v8, automatic, all wheel drive. @80,000 miles. I want to replace the broken latch or cable but can't open the hood to do it.

Hi there,

You would be better off visiting you local body repair shop as it is something you need to see to work out how best to open.
