I recently had repairs done to my SUV. I notice a burning smell near the hood of my car. After doing some investigating, I saw the car repair shop tried to fix a part with duck tape! This in by the driver side tire. If you notice the plastic orange and green pieces, those are the one they were trying to hold in with the tape. The tape is greasy and something is leaking out of these holes. Please, someone help me and tell me what is suppose to be in the space where the orange and green plastic pieces are located. Also what could be leaking out of this spot.

It looks like you had the air conditioner compressor removed and they put caps over the ac hoses, I don't know why the tape is on there it doesn't look like it is doing anything. If the repairs have just been made then you will get a slight burning smell when the engine heats up which is normal and will go away in a day or two.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
