2000 Mercury Mountaineer wrong transmission fluid

2000 Mercury Mountaineer Automatic 119000 miles

I put about a half-quart of Multi-Purpose ATF in a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer which requires Mercon V; will this damage the transmission? Do I need to get the ATF changed?

1/2 quart isn't a lot in a 10-13 qt. System, but Ford recommends NOT mixing fluids, so I would get it flushed at a place with the machine. Most oil change shops use the refilling station.
