1976 300D mercedes benz 116K. I have a ghost in the machine! My left blinker blinks twice as fast as the right. While listening to the pattern of the blinking when the right was on, I noticed a regular change in the tempo, sort of like a surge in the electrical system somewhere. And my cd player decides to play or not. Any suggestions on where to begin?
thanks!

Thanks for your reply! I'll take that information to my mechanic. However, could you clarify for me what you mean by earths?

Cheers!

Hi there,

Your mechanic will understand about earth. For youe infomation for any elecrical circuit to work power must flow from the supply in your case the battery through the wireing, switches etc to the item to be powered up, in your case the indicator light. Now the power (12Volts) flows through the globe (which is a restance which heats up and emits heat & light) now to compleate the circuite the globe is conected to Earth ( the car body) which is conected to the Neg (Earth) of the battery. I hope not to long winded. So basicly each globe will have a conection to the car body and if they are dirty or coroded you will have problems with the light.

I hope that helps, don't forget to vote,

Good luck, Mark (mhpautos)
