There is a green key light on the dash that illuminates. It will just randomly not start. I have two sets of manufacturer keys along with a spare key from the manufacturer. They will all work and then none of them will work. It will not happen every time but once is too much. Is this a faulty security system or something else?

This could be as simple as a faulty transceiver or something more complicated so let's start with scanning for codes when this happens.

If there are no codes, then I suspect if all the keys are doing the same thing, then we have an issue with the module that picks up the signal from the key.

Basically, the best way to find this out is monitor the ignition status and key sensing data in the body computer and the powertrain computer.

Clearly, we will need a scan tool to do this but unfortunately without this info we will be guessing a bit, so it is best to try and start with this.

However, if we have codes then that will take us in a different direction so let's start with this and go from there.

Thanks
