I have a 1984 Mazda B2000 PU and I am having trouble removing the bolt from the crankshaft so that I can remove the timing chain cover. First, which way is it supposed to turn to loosen, second, do you have suggestions for removing it?

You have to turn it left/ counterclock wise to loosen it.

NOTE: note the rotation of the crankshaft.

Find correct size deep socket and a small extension 1/2 drive with ratchet, get a short pipe so that you can insert the ratchet in it. brace the pipe properly against the ground or within the engine now crank engine over-this will break it loose without jamming the starter and flywheel to prevent it from moving. This is the fastest way to do it.
