Electric Issue

I have a 1991 Mazda B2200, 177000 miles. and my dad installed a new aftermarket radio. well after that at night when i turned my headlights on my radio would NOT come on. so i dealt with it. then tonight my gauge light died and my radio came on and i cant see how fast im goin or my gas gauge or anything. could someone please help me. friends told me they thought it was a fuse but im not sure.

Pull the stereo back out and recheck the wiring-red at the stereo goes to the switch power of the ignition, the orange goes to the constant power on one of the existing wire to power the memory test the wires with a test lite to confirm the correct power being used.
