i recently (within 5 or so days) purchased my car and forgot to check the oil. i smelled gas in the oil, 100% sure. its extremely prevalent and overpowering. i also noticed that my oil pressure guage drops below 30 and almost to 0 when it is idling. however, when i "get on it" and tear through the gears, the pressure returns to normal; not exceeding 60. i dont know when the last oil change was, since i neglected to ask the previous owner. could an oil change just fix the problem, or could it be more serious?
my car seems to be running just fine other than that.

Hi there,

I would be doing an oil & filter change to start with and see what expires, you can have a fuel rail pressure test done this will check for a faulty injector that may be leaking. Also get a oil pressure test done with a master gauge, this will give a true indication as to engine oil pressure.
