If you need to get back with us, to better assist you please tell me the model of your vehicle. Is it a DX, ES, or LX. Also the engine size in liter.
The only way to test out the sensor is if you have a NGS tester according to the manual. It tests the frequency etc. Sorry. I feel for this you are better off just replacing it.
It is not part of the computer but feeds it info.
Not sure if it will fix your problem but if it is showing bad it needs to be replaced. Once it is, I would clear codes, drive it and see how it does.
Since you are at the Zone anyway and it is free, they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.
Get that fixed and see how it does and then get back with us if you feel things are still not right. But... Pull the codes first to save time.
