Last night I ended up spraying steam cleaner soap on my sngine and let it sit for 5 mins. Afterwords I took a garden hose and rinsed it off. Then after that I washed the rest of my car. When I got into my car I went for a ride to bring it home, then I noticed the car was skipping really bad and so I had to pull into a parking lot for it had bareley any engine power to go anywhere. The car then started to stall and for me to go anywhere I had to keep my foot on the gas to get it home. I did notice a weird smell like the car was burning the fuel weird or it was coming out of the exaust with a different smell.

I am guessing I got water on the wrong area on my car engine and so I may have to wait for it to dry for a few days maybe? Thanks for your input.

I ty for answering my question about the car skipping on my 1996 mazda protege 4 cyl 1.5 liter with 175k on the motor. It was indeed water on the plugs. The new prob I am having is the charge light comes on once in awhile and when that happens my belt squells badly. It comes and goes, I am guessing the altenator is crapping out, maybe the barren is getting rdy to seize up. I did check the belt and it is tight. Thanks for looking.
