like to know what makes it spit and go on , almost like missing , could be gas ?

With little information to go no re engine type Carby /EFI i suspect that it is carby due to the age. I would do a compression test and check for a burnt valve, check valve clearances if they are adjustable and do a full tune inc fuel filter. i cannot be more specific with out more details.
