My 1988 Manual Mazda MX-6 burns three quarts of oil every three thousand miles, but runs great? It failed all of the emissions tests at inspection though. Is there anything I can replace that will make it pass?

The piston rings and valve guides/seals maybe!!!

If its burning that much oil....there really is nothing other than some major engine work.

I guess you should check you PCV valve, but 3 quarts.....I'm not sure that even a completely clogged PCV system could do that
