Had wires changed 3 months ago..engine light came on...took to Autozone....misfire code...had new plugs put in NGK platinum....still same problem....tried coil pack....same problem....car would not start....added fuel injection cleaner....car ran for a day and now will start but when put in drive or reverse car stalls and dies....sometimes when driving car will die....and now when I push on accelerator...car will not do anything.....I took to a repair shop....recommended from friends.....the mechanic called me and said that he had bad news....my transmission was gone and it would cost me $3400....i went online to see what symptoms of transmission problems would be and my car had none of those....it was all symptoms of a fuel problem.....I am a single mom and I feel like am being scammed....Please help!!

i have to say the mechanic may be right on this one these actually are symptoms of a solid torque convertor lock up at idle or low engine speed without looking at it myself i cant tell you for sure but it does sound as though there might be transmission problems i know how hard it is to be a single mom and come up with that kind of money my mom did it growing up but you need a car trust him if your friends tell you hes a good guy then he must have done them right if hes wrong believe me he will want to make it right after you spent that kind of money with him i hope this helps
