About two weeks ago, my check engine light popped on while in transit. Since then, the light has gone off & just the other day come back on. I advised my baby brother (who is an amateur apprentice mechanic @ a shop) so he could hook it up to the diagnostic machine to see the error machine. The diagnostic reported issues with the "ECG Flow." I don't know what that means or where to look for the problem. He doesn't think that this problem should be affecting the performance of me engine; however, it feels like its causing misfires - almost to the point of stall outs when idle. How critical is this problem in my "pristine engine" and where should I have my brother seek out this area in my engine? I am looking forward to your professional advice. Clearly, I am concerned and don't know where to seek out answers. Please email your advice: Pixiedustedleo@aol. Com

Many thanks in advance and best regards,

Mary

Your problem lies in the exhaust gas recirculation valve. If the valve sticks open then your car will run rough due to a lean condition. I would repair this problem. It usually is a vacuum line leak or faulty solenoid or egr valve itself. I cant be certain unless I looked at vehicle.
