I just had my a/c compressor replaced and the system charged. When I switch on the a/c the belt would squeal very loudly and at a high pitch. I took of the belt, inspected it, cleaned it and re-installed it. Now the squealing stopped but when I turn on the a/c or turn the wheels when not in motion the belt slows down and the a/c and power steering no longer works. Even at high rpm's. The battery/charging and rear lamp warning lights come on. Please advise. Thank you.

Sounds like the new compressor is locking up-to make that squeal/high pitch noise

Noise from the compressor usually means the compressor is on its way out. But noise can also be caused by cross-contaminated refrigerant (operating pressure too high), air in the system or the wrong type of compressor lubricant.
