the car is missing and sometimes you can press the gas pedal down and the car will hardley go. Put some stp fuel cleaner and injection cleaner in the gas tank and it seems to have helped. Leading me to beleive thats its either the fuel filter or the fuel pump. Would like to know where the fuel filter and fuel pump are located on the Mazda 6.

The fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank and the bottom of the tank and is what they call a lifetime filter so you will need to remove the fuel pump to get at it. Some cars have a tap door which you can get to it from which it looks like your car has. Here is a guide to give you an idea of what you are in for when changing the fuel pump out.

The engine could just need plugs

Here and the fuel pump removal diagrams (Below)

Please let us know what you find.

The fuel filter is part of the pump assembly. Once the fuel pump is removed, remove the filter retainer and filter.
