Okay, last week I had to change the power steering pump. After I was done with that my check engine light came on for transmission slipping component. I cleared the code and continued to drive the truck with absolutely no problems at all. I'm trying to get the truck inspected so I needed to put tires on to be legal. All monitors were set, no check engine light on. I was so excited. Since I've owned the truck the ABS light has been on and the parking brake light has been on and never had any effect on the truck. Well, yesterday I swapped the tires and rims on the truck and I drove the truck almost all the way home when I stopped at the stop sign took off and the truck shifted from first to second but then when trying to shift from second to third the RPMs got up to about 2,300 and then it was like the truck went into neutral. It revved right up to like 4 grand sounded like it had a lot of torque so I let off the gas and applied little to no gas and the speed continued to climb. Anyone have any idea what or where to start to find the issue to fix this problem?

This sounds like a couple possible causes. Let's start with checking for codes and go from there.

If there are no codes then here are a couple more guides that will get us down the road of figuring this out. Unfortunately we are going to need to get a little more information to know which way to go. To start, if there are no codes, what was the old code that you erased?

I would also check the fluid and make sure it is the proper level. If not, we need to change it and fill it properly.

Let's start with all this info and go from there. Thanks
