I have an old F150. A few weeks ago it was losing power at times. It was hard to get started but always did and the idle was smooth. While out driving one day it lost power and shut down like turning off the key. It wouldn't restart. Once I got it home it will turn over but not run not even a putt. I checked for fuel and it's getting fuel. I checked for spark and got nothing. I replaced the computer box and same issue, no spark. I changed the coil and still nothing. I ran diagnostic test and got codes for the MAP sensor and the EGR valve. The EGR is easy to find and get to. The MAP sensor is a different story. Everything I saw online says that the sensor is located on the firewall left of the intake manifold. It's not there only the air conditioning housing is there, nothing else. Where else can it be located? Could it be the reason for the no spark issue?

Hello, I'm Danny.

Here is the information you requested. Yes, having a faulty or failed MAP sensor will cause a no start condition. I've attached 2 pictures below showing its location. Hope this helps and let us know if you have any further questions on this issue. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thank you for the diagram. Unfortunately, for me, the sensor isn't there. Nothing is there. Vacuum lines are present, one goes into the air housing and another goes across to the heater control valve. Is it possible that the sensor was bypassed? Perhaps a different location? I have no clue. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello again.

I went off the information you provided. Your truck might not have a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor but a MAF (mass air flow) instead. I've re-attached the picture below. The green circle is the MAP sensor I mentioned in the prior post and the red circle is a MAF sensor located near the air filter assembly. Take a look and get back to us to see if it's that location. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
