Manual shifter not working properly

Today as I was driving, I came to I light and shift into first and the shifter felt like it was in gear. When I released the clutch to engage it grid a bit and pop out of gear, so I tried again and nothing. It will not go into gear. I was able to take off in second when I go to third same. So, I pop it in four then when back up to three to see what will happen and gear went in nice no problem. So, in order to go into one first I need to shift to two then one same as three gear fist four then 3. If anyone can guide me on where to look or what to check, thanks.

More than likely this is a clutch issue. The first sign of a failing clutch is that it will not go into first gear when sitting still. Then you may get some grinding when changing gears.

Once we are able to feel confident that this is a clutch issue then we will need to proceed with replacing it but let's start with this and go from there.

Clearly, we don't want to jump to something like this without a little more info to be sure.

Sure. I am not exactly sure what type of diagram you are looking for on the cables, but I am providing what is there in the manual plus the adjustment process for the cables so let me know if you need something different.
