There are a lot of things that can cause those issues. I would get it scanned and see what the codes say, since the check engine light is on. That could easily identify the issue, or at least get us looking in the right area. The local AutoZone, Advance Auto, or O'reilly Auto will scan it for you for free. If you want though, you can open the hood and look around for obvious things, like vacuum leaks.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-an-engine-vacuum-gauge - in particular, look at the vacuum lines located around the intake (top area of the engine). But also look all around under the hood.
So, check for vacuum leaks. If that does not fix it, get it scanned. Then get back on here and we will go from there.
