My low oil pressure light comes on when I turn the key but does not start the engine. However, when I do start the engine, it doesn't come on. Any idea as to why? Also I have a bit too much oil in it. Don't know if maybe this could be why.

Hello,

Your vehicle's low engine oil light is working properly. What is going on is that when first turn your ignition key all your warning lights come on momentarily for what is known as "bulb check", which does just what it sounds like, checking the light bulbs so they will light up and alert you when there is a problem. You want the warning lights to go off, meaning there is no problem. If they stay on, that means that the system in question has a problem and needs to addressed. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Alex
