Just to be sure what is happening, when you put the vehicle in reverse, it does not move but you hear a loud scraping noise?

If this is the case, then we need to start by checking the fluid.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-and-add-transmission-fluid

I am not as concerned with if the fluid is low but the condition of it. If the fluid is dark or has metal in it then that is going to help us just to what I suspect is happening.

Is the scraping noise most likely going to get faster when you accelerate? So put it in gear and step on the accelerator and see if the scraping gets louder/faster.

If so, we need to drop the pan and find out if there are chunks of metal in the pan.

If so, then we need to replace the unit.

Let's start with this info and go from there. Thanks

Hi,

When you select drive, does it work normally? Also, is the sound loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear? Also, is the scraping sound coming from the transmission area?

If reverse is the only time this happens and it happened all at once, I suspect it is related to the reverse input clutch assembly. There is a circlip that secures the input clutch spring. I have a feeling the clip has either broken or come off allowing the components in the clutch pack to cause the noise. I attached a couple of pics below showing the components I mentioned.

Let me know.
