Hi,
What you described sounds like a failing crankshaft position sensor. When they start to go bad, they are adversely affected by heat. Once the sensor cools a bit, it works again.
Do me a favor. Take a look through this link and let me know if it mirrors what you experience:
https://www.2carpros.com/articles/symptoms-of-a-bad-crankshaft-sensor
If it does, I really want to confirm the sensor is the most likely cause because the timing belt cover needs to be removed to access it. So, when it stalls and won't start, I need you to check if there is spark to the plugs.
Here is a link that explains how that is done:
https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-for-ignition-spark
If there is no spark, the sensor is my first suspect. Also, if you have a live data scan tool, connect it and check for an RPM signal when cranking. If there is no signal, that is why there is no spark and again, the sensor is my first suspect.
In the event the sensor needs to be replaced, I attached the directions below for replacing it.
Let me know what you find or if you have questions.
Take care,
Joe
