1998 Lincoln Town Car 230000 miles

Hello, rear end of my Lincoln Town Car is dragging on the ground. I thinks it's the air shocks. I had the switch off in the trunk of my car for about two weeks. The Lincoln dealership wants $100 for a diagnostic, and they say it can cost anywhere from $100 to $1,000 to fix. No one has a definite answer to what's going on. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hello and thanks for donating

When the rear is down that means the entire system is down, the front end does not sag as low as the back because the springs in the front are much stiffer to support the engine. When you turn the system on, can you hear the air compressor kicking on under the hood? If it is coming on and shocks are not coming up then there is a leak somewhere. If the compressor is not coming on then that is the fault that will need resolved.

It can be expensive to repair those air suspension systems. They do make a kit that will change it over to regular springs if you choose.

Www. Suncoreindustries. Com is one of them
