Noises problem
1994 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive 150000 miles

My 94 Lincoln Town Car rattles over small bumps but not big ones. The rattling stops when I brake. it is comming from the driver side front end near the tire. what should I look at or what may the problem be? The stearing is perfect and smooth it dose not make noise whe I turn, just over small bumps. I can only hear this noise when the window is open.

Hi mattybones. Welcome to the forum. The wheel should be removed so the brakes can be inspected for loose or missing anti-rattle springs or hardware. Also, the backing plates for the linings may have bendable fingers that hold the pads tightly to the caliper. Sometimes those have to be hammered down tighter. The clue you found is that brake pressure is holding whatever is loose to stop it from rattling.
