2002 Lincoln Navigator 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive

What should be the average cost of rebuilding a transmission for a 2002 Lincoln Navigtor be? My truck stopped going forward and would only go in reverse. I have an estimate from the shop that has my truck of $ 1000.00 does that sound responisble?

If you can get the whole thing done correctly for $1000 you should go for it. I have been quoted as much as $3000 for a 2001 navigator transmission rebuild. But check e-bay. You may find a transmission that is remanufactured for less. Good luck.
