Hello I recently bought a 2000 lincoln ls manual transmission. I have a problem with the engine getting above 40 mph. It was a salvaged vehicle and I am looking to restore it's power. I have read all over the internet that the lincoln is notorious at faulty ignition coils. I am stationed in iraq right now and in a week I will be home to put this baby together. Is there anyone out there who has advice on what exactly this problem could be? I would appreciate any and all information and help in this matter. Thank you.

I have a 2000 lincoln LS that had the same problem. I've replaced 6 out 8 ignition coil packs on it so far. The problem is once one goes the others go shortly after. Best best is to replace the ignition coils and plugs while you're at it (considering the mileage) and hopefully this will take care of your issue. Dealer cost per coil is between 90-115 but your local parts store has it for around $50, just may not have a lot or any in stock. Should be able to order though.
