95 Lincoln Continental Oil Leak

Bought this car just to drive back and forth to work and I think I have made a huge mistake. It is a 95 continental with the 4.6 dohc motor. I bought it needing new suspension. Put in the conversion struts and springs, and now I have a fairly large oil leak. My question is, the oil is leaking from behind the bracket that holds the air conditioning compressor. What is behind that braket? Nothing in the repair manual helps, I cant take the compressor out without spending hours on it. Has anyone heard of the block cracking in that location, or is there a gasket that I am unaware of. Or could it be a freeze plug. Anyway if you have any hints, or first hand knowledge of what this could be, post with what you got. Thanks

Its engine oil. I put in a new oil pan gasket, filled up with the six quarts of oil the book calls for, and then after about an hour I had a 4 inch diameter puddle going on and the oil was dripping at a rate where I could follow it pretty much, it went straight to the backet point. Other info to tell you, I can see where the vavle cover meets the head, and that is dry, I can see where the head meets the block and that is dry. Haven't decided if I am ambitious enough to pull the motor.

If you need more info, just ask.
