Yesterday my 98 Lincoln Continental AC started blowing warm air at stop lights. I just had the intake manifold gasket replaced two weeks ago due to a leak that caused my Engine Warning light to go on, which was preventing it from passing a smog check. I don't know if the intake manifold gasket replacement is related, or this new problem is just coincidental. I know the shop had the car for over a week claiming there were problems getting parts. I thought perhaps the belt was slipping or perhaps something was obstructing the condenser cooling fins, but wanted to ask here first.

There are a couple of things that make your a/c to blow warm air. But since you are saying that only warm air while you are stopped then I think your compressor is going bad. When you are driving the revolutions are higher and your compressor heat exchange is better but once you stop the engine revs are slower and then not enough pressure is being produced. If your a/c works fine when running and not when stopped then your compressor is not working like it is should. Your local a/c repair shop should help you out. If it is the compressor then you are looking at spending a couple of hundred dollars. Compressor, drier or accumilator, orfice tube, oil and labor is what your are looking at.
