All the lights in the car work fine, but the dashboard light failure indicator light (picture of a car with "lights" written under it) stays on while the car is running. After ignition, idling in park, it is not on. As soon as I step on the brake, it comes on and stays on. I also tried starting the car in neutral (light not on) and sliding the shifter into drive without touching the brake pedal. Again, the dash light comes on and stays on. Could this be a brake switch problem, or some wiring issue? Any help would be welcome. Thanks

Have you confirmed that all exterior lights are working?

If they are all working, something tells me you have a short to power which is providing power to that light. Check under the dash for anything that appears damaged, rubbed bare, or pinched.

Ok will do - thanks for your help. Hope it's something simple as a pinched wire.
