1990 Lexus LS 400 Check Engline at start up

My check engine light comes on when I start my car and stays on for about one mile. This happens after the car has sat for quite awhile. Not every single time. I have replaced my Air Flow Meter previously do to a previous CEL but that has been a few months and this new light just started last week. HELP?

Scan the computer for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management thats popping the CEL

Thank you - I know I should take it in and have it scanned but I have called 5 shops and they all told me they couldn't do it. I found one shop but they told me it would be over $100 to scan it. I am just looking for suggestions as to what the problem might be so I know where to start looking.
