2000 Lexus ES 300 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 80.000 miles
I have been having trouble keeping my car running recently at initial cold starting. Initial RPM's aren't high enough to keep the motor running without hitting the gas to increase engine speed. Once it heats up a little, (about 30-45 seconds) the motor runs fine. I have a new air filter, I've cleaned the air intake butterflies. I've found no vacuum leaks. I've increased the set screw to increase idle RPM's a little, but the car still starts like it has an old style carburetorr that wouldn't close it's choke in cold weather. My initial computer scan came up with a P505 idle air/ speed control problem. I also noticed the throttle cable had a little slack in it, so I adjusted that. Can you suggest something else for me to check?
