Hi! I found an oil leak and tried to diagnose it. My car is the MCV-20R model and has a 1mz-fe engine. I Checked under the engine and saw an oil leak that looks sludged to tell me its been there for a while. Primarily centred around the area on which the power steering pulley on which the vbelt/drive belt runs. See pics attached.

However, the oil level in the dipstick is at F (full) level and the car was driven for 600 miles by my friend after I purchased the car.

I washed the engine to check for exact location of oil leak/s. There is lesser oil dripping now but the car was driven only 2 miles after the engine wash.

Some evidence of where the leak/s seem occur are
1) Slight leak from the valve cover seal
2) Near the power steering pulley as mentioned earlier but also a place which seems to connect to the right front wheel axle.

Any one who knows or has had this problem before.

Please help.

Paul

Replace the valve cover gasket. Check power steering line and pump for leaking power steering fluid. Also check the transmission/axle seal for leaking transmission fluid

Thanks Dave. The valve cover leak has been fixed. Any chances of fixing the powersteering pump without replacing it?

Cheers!

I'm afraid it is a replacement part only. You cannot buy the seal.. Maybe you could get a good used one recycle yard !
