When starting engine, car really revs up instead of usual quiet. Has stalled twice after turning into my driveway.
Engine stalled twice while waiting at stop light.

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Have you checked the idle air control motor?

No, the Check Engine light has never come on.

After doing some research I narrowed the list of possibilities to four.
1. Idle speed control monitor
2. Fuel injector system
3. Vacuum leaks and/or idle air control valve
4. Correct cruise control setting

So it looks as if I was going in the right direction. Now I can give the mechanics some idea of what to look for when I take my car in for servicing. I don't have my brothers to help me with car problems any more and I know how women can be taken advantage of by unscrupulous mechanics and unneeded repairs - even at the dealership. Thanks again.

I understand. My first guess is the idle air control motor (IAC). Usually, that will set an engine code, but it doesn't always happen.

Let me know what they tell you and I can help direct you.
