Van began by not starting once (lights all come on fine but only clicked; would not even crank over) and then the engine light came on. Hooked up code reader and code read that the crankshaft sensor needed replaced. We replaced the sensor and then the van would start a few times and then back to the click only. We were able to get it to start again by disconnecting battery cable and reconnecting. Now this doesn't even work. It won't start. Does anyone have a chronilogical ordered list that we could try to fix this problem? I work a full time job plus a part time job. I really need my transportation back and can't afford to take it to a shop. Can't find anyone local to work on a Kia anyway.

Areyou only getting a click when turning the key? If so, are you sure the battery is good? If it is, you I need you to try something. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check to see if there is 12 volts to the smaller wire on the starter. If there is 12 volts and it just clicks, the solenoid is most likely bad and the starter will need replaced. If this is the case, remove the starter and have it bench tested at a parts store to be sure.
