Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Kia Sedona 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have a kia sedona 2.9 turbo diesel which overheated as a result of a split in the bottom hose. The engine wont start now and seems to lack compression, is the fault a possible head gasket or maybe a turbo problem. Do I go for a new engine or try to repair existing one? BOB C

First, diesels are not my speciality, but I'm going to try to help. If the motor was overheated, chances are you either warped the head or blew the gasket. You need to check engine compression. Without compression, it won't run.

Here is a how to for checking compression. Let me know what you find.
