First try stepping on the brake and put the trans in neutral and see if it will start, Wiggle the shifter a bit while holding the key. That will tell you if it's a neutral switch issue.

If nothing then have someone turn the key to start a few times while you listen and feel the starter relay in the PDC under the hood. If it is clicking on/off try swapping it with the spare (if it's still there, if not use the wiper high/low) If it starts now replace the relay. If not then it will be necessary to check the starter itself.

Which engine do you have the 4 or 6 and is this a Sport or Limited model? Wiring is a bit different.

98,000 miles huh, it's almost broke in, My 03 has 246,000 on it.
