I lost my key and i have another key that turns the ignition, but it shows that security theft. How can I get it to start my car?

Hi,
Is the spare key an original? Does the key have a black or gray end that contains a transponder in it?
Do me a favor. Turn the key to the run position so the theft light turns on. Allow it to remain on for approximately 10 minutes to see if the light turns off. If it does, see if it starts.
Let me know what you find.
