I am a single mom and my son bought a truck that ran fine then suddenly it died. Check fuses under the hood and I think it was a n ECB? Fuse had blown. Replaced fuse and told him to take it home. Fuse blew again about halfway home. I told him I believed there was a short in wires to fuel pump but, I am mom and don't know anything. He got it in the next morning and it started right up but blew the fuse less than half mile from home then it just kept blowing fuses. Towed him home and now it sits because I don't know how to fix it and he really needs it this year. I have no one to ask for help. To make matters worse he cut his knee with chain saw trying to earn money for his truck. So I need an idiots guide for me on how to track short. I have a voltage meter if needed and a basic knowledge of motors. Please help me get his truck running I am trying to work on it while he is at band practice. He thinks it is fuel pump and I say it is a short.

You can check the wire leading to fuel pump to see how many amps it is drawing on the gray wire. However it may be a bad fuel pump. I am assuming this is a 5.7L engine. It shold have 60-66psi at fuel rail to run or start.
