Jeep was sitting for about 6 months...started occasionally until Dec 2009, fuel was getting dumped into 2 cylinders from bad computer. Replaced computer and that problem was gone. It runs and sounds fine until it gets good and warm when it starts tapping, which progressively gets louder, and oil pressure drops to zero after being driven. When started, pressure is normal. Engine does have sludge in it.

Hi there,

check and report the actual pressure readings using a mechanical gauge, i would be interested in cold idle, hot idle and hot 2000rpm. if engine noise is present don't do the high rev test, this may be a faulty pressure relief valve, start here.
