2007 Jeep Cherokee fuel

I have 2 qwestions. first, I just bought this jeep 1 month ago. I am only getting about 10 to 12 miles to the gallon of fuel milage. what can i do to help the milage? from the service records, it looks like the plugs have been changed. 2nd, i heard that these jeeps with the v6 3.7 have aluimin heads. what can i do to prevent from head gasgets from going on it?

As`far as your fuel mileage is concerned, all you can do is make sure everything in the engine is in good shape like the air filter, fuel system is clean, etc. Make sure the tires are inflated correctly, remove any excess weight and watch your driving habits.

On your head gasket concern, there is only one thing that will prevent that and that is, do not let the car overheat. That is what blows head gaskets and damages heads. You should have no problem if you never overheat the engine.
